Ms. Lynn Thomas has been a resident of Meredith for 46 years, and says on her website that she’s been a lifelong Democrat.
She’s had two careers, first as a psychotherapist, and later as an organization development consultant for nonprofits. Her education includes a BS in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh; Masters in Social Work from the University of Connecticut; and a MS in Organization Development and Training from the NTL Institute.
Ms. Thomas has particularly strong opinions on diverting NH taxpayer dollars to families of students in private or religious schools. On her website she says, “Radical Republicans and Free Staters have been working to destroy public education in New Hampshire on many fronts, including taking your taxpayer dollars to fund students who were already in private and religious schools. Lynn will protect our public schools, and the opportunity for all Granite Staters to get ahead.”
Rick DeMark, chair of the Meredith Democrats wrote this letter in the Laconia Daily Sun stating her state and national issue positions.
While Ms. Thomas has yet completed the Citizens for Belknap questionnaire on Belknap County issues, she did make statements on the Citizens Count survey and her website on the need for affordable housing, a key issue for Citizens for Belknap.
"[The] Need for workforce/ affordable housing is critical. This is not low income subsidized housing (section 8),” and goes on to say on her website, “Everyone needs a safe, affordable place to call home, whether you’re a young person just starting your career, a working family, or a senior citizen. Lynn understands how critical this is to our wellbeing as a community, and for our small businesses. She will work in Concord and as a member of the Belknap County Delegation to creatively incentivize the development of more affordable housing in our community.”
