STEVE HODGES

County Commission District 3  -  Alton / Barnstead / Gilford / Laconia Ward 2

Mr. Hodges is a candidate for County Commissioner

`

My name is Steve Hodges, and I would like to re-introduce myself to the voters of Belknap County. It’s been some twenty years since my name appeared on a ballot here in the county. I

am running in the primary as a Republican Candidate for the office of County Commissioner, District Three, which encompasses Ward Two in the City of Laconia, Gilford, Alton, and Barnstead.

I graduated from Laconia High School and Saint Anselm College. I spent twenty-eight years with the Belknap County Sheriff’s Department, the last thirteen years as the Elected Sheriff.

I currently reside in my hometown of Gilford. I am a lifelong resident. I care deeply for my county and its well-being.

My time as Sheriff gives me a unique perspective on how important county government is. Our county government provides many important services. I am a conservative republican. I will work to balance county taxes and keep them low, while supporting responsible funding for all county departments, and full funding for the Nursing Home to get it back up to full bed capacity. I would like to play a role in restoring the citizens' confidence in County Government. I support Gunstock Ski area and the leadership team in place there. I want to keep the governance of Gunstock as it presently exists.

I support law enforcement and the job they perform. Our local law enforcement depends on the Sheriff’s Department’s twenty-four-hour dispatch center, the County Attorney’s Office, the Restorative Justice Program, and the County Jail.

Our booming real estate market depends on the Registry of Deeds. And the most vulnerable population, our senior citizens, depend on the County Nursing Home.

I am asking for your vote in the primary.

Please like me on my Facebook page, Hodges for Belknap County Commissioner, where you can message me for signs or ask me questions.

Thank you. Stephen Hodges   Gilford, NH 03249
