General Election 2026
Help Choose Reasonable, Responsible Representation for Belknap County
The Nov. 3 version makes recommendations for ALL Belknap County Races, including State Representative, County Commissioner, County Attorney, County Treasurer, County Registrar of Probate, and Sheriff. This cycle, we're also making a recommendation for the District 2 State Senate Race, which encompasses the most Belknap County towns of any senate seat.
It’s our mission to help our citizens make their own educated choices for reasonable, responsible candidates who will be good stewards for our county budget, care for our elders and less fortunate residents, and protect our county's resources.
Likewise, we are educating voters to avoid marginal candidates such as fringe Free Staters and extreme Libertarians pretending to be Republican candidates. It’s our hope that voters can avoid being duped into electing candidates who have, or may, create chaos in county institutions like county-owned Gunstock Mountain Resort and our county nursing home.
Some Questionnaires May Be Missing. Here's Why:
Our questionnaires were released to both parties on the same day in July and September. Belknap Republican Committee leadership instructed their candidates not to complete it, though several candidates wisely and thoughtfully did anyway.
Our bipartisan steering committee agreed that for candidates who did NOT show voters the courtesy of sharing their positions on important county issues, the highest recommendation possible was ⚠️CAUTION / Incomplete Information.
