Questionnaire

Rep. Beaudoin is a retired businessman and electronics technician and lives in Gilford.   He served in the NH House 2018-2020, and was reelected in 2022.  While Mr. Beaudoin does not appear to be an extreme candidate and had a good attendance record, he sponsored no bills in the last session.

One comment he gave to one of our Steering Committee members was   “I’ll get re-elected without doing anything.”  That’s NOT something a voter wants to hear.

One of Mr. Beaudoin’s votes which alarmed us was against “Indefinite Postponement” of Rep. Comtois’ HB 1414.  That bill would have changed the revenue sharing agreement between the Gunstock Resort and the county, and implemented extreme and extremely expensive “forensic” audits.  The bill had been defeated, but Rep. Beaudoin chose to keep the bill alive.     See the Citizens Count summary of Rep. Beaudoin’s votes.

One of his colleagues said that Mr. Beaudoin is “non-factor” in the Belknap County Delegation, and doesn’t ask many questions or drive conversations.

While we emphasize that we don’t perceive Mr. Beaudoin as an extreme candidate, we think Belknap County may be better served by a more active and engaged representative.

In His Own Words . . .
