Ms. Lapointe is the currently elected Register of Deeds, and it's our understanding that historically, a Register typically work in the Register of Deeds office prior for running for the seat.  Ms. Lapointe served as in the office prior to running for the position.

The position is a full time professional one and is compensated as an employee of the county.   The department is a positive revenue stream for the county.

We requested a bio from Ms. Lapointe, but did not receive a response.  However our inquiries suggest Ms. Lapointe has done an excellent job, supported by a detailed endorsement in the Laconia Daily Sun.

RECOMMENDATION

Ms. Lapointe appears to have done an excellent job for the county,  and has proven her qualifications for the job.  Citizens for Belknap recommends her as reasonable and responsible.
