Ruth Larson
Candidate for County Registrar of Probate

RECOMMENDED
As a retired attorney, Ms. Larson is a highly-qualified candidate for this position. Her years if service to local committees suggests she would serve Belknap County residents well.
The Registrar of Probate advises residents as they navigate the
county court system for wills and trust issues.
Ms. Larson has spent time in New Hampshire her
whole life, staying with family at their old farmhouse
in Alton. Upon retirement from her work as a lawyer
in 2010, she and her husband moved to NH full time
and built a home here. Since that time, she took up
skiing again and eventually was selected by a
bipartisan delegation as a Gunstock Commissioner
in 2013.
She has been active in community affairs, serving
as a Supervisor of the Checklist and volunteering
time in local activities, including Alton Old Home
Day Parade, Alton Winter Carnival, and annual trash
pickups. Her political activities have included
running for state office, writing letters to area
newspapers, testifying in support of voting rights,
and pushing for local projects such as the swap
shop and town beautification. She was also actively
involved in the efforts to save Gunstock from
attacks by libertarian extremists.
Ruth has been a friend and supporter of the prior
Register of Probate, Alan Glassman (a Republican)
and indicates she would not have run against him
had he decided to run again. If elected, she would
follow his model of supporting the general public in
their dealings with probate, trying to help reduce the
stress often involved in these matters.
Her experience as an attorney would be useful in
helping navigate the ins and outs of Probate Court.
Even though the position includes no office space
or official method of contact, Ruth would offer her
phone number to the public to use in time of need.
Although a Democrat, Ruth Larson has worked
across the aisle many times, including,
coincidentally, in writing a letter of endorsement for
her opponent’s Republican husband when he ran
for Gunstock Commissioner some years ago.
