Mr. Nugent has so far not returned his 2026 Questionnaire, likely as a result of following the demands of the Belknap County Republican Committee, so the voters have little on his views for important county issues.

Mr. Kevin Nugent reports on his campaign Facebook page that he is a 30-year resident of Belmont, where he lives with his wife and son.  He reports that he volunteers with several local organizations.

He states:   

"Some of my main areas of focus are school funding, housing affordability, and the homelessness problems our communities are facing."

​

He is employed as a dispatcher for the Belknap County Sheriff's Department and served in a similar capacity for Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid as a lieutenant from 2004 to 2023.   He worked for Concord Fire Department previously, and served as interim fire chief for the Winnisquam Fire Department before it was folded into Belmont's department.

Mr. Nugent ran unsuccessfully for school board in 2024, but served two terms on the Shaker Valley Regional School District's budget committee.

Our inquiries suggest he is well respected in the community, and appears to be a reasonable and responsible candidate.   However, without his 2026 Questionnaire, or his Citizens Count statewide survey.   This shows a lack of respect for the voters and we cannot give more than a ⚠️Caution / No Information recommendation.
