Mr. Thompson is a candidate for State Representative, representing Sanbornton, Tilton and Belmont  in District 8, a "floterial" district.  

 

Mr. Thompson has not communicated with Citizens for Belknap despite several attempts.  He has submitted neither his Primary questionnaire, nor his General Election questionnaire, and chose not to participate in our District 4/District 8 candidate forum in Belmont.   He has not answered his Citizens Count survey.

We can find no record of any community engagement in Sanbornton, such as board participation, volunteering, or local office by Mr. Thompson.

We've found no candidate website, but did find his candidate Facebook page.  While there is no meaningful issue or policy statements, there is a video of Mr. Thompson using a sledgehammer on signs which say NH Income Tax, NH Sales Tax, Tax and Spend, and Sanctuary Cities, with Mr. Thompson saying "Not on my watch!"    It could be argued that is a policy statement.

We do not know what Mr. Thompson's positions are on the many issues facing Belknap County.

RECOMMENDATION 

Mr. Thompson is not a serious candidate, and therefore not reasonable or responsible.  There is no indication that he would properly represent District 8 or Belknap County. Citizens for Belknap does not recommend Mr. Thompson.
