Our Recommendations
Gilford, Gilmanton and Laconia Ward 2 citizens are fortunate to have many good choices for their four State House seats.
Russ Dumais is also a former state rep, and in Gilford served as a member of the Selectboard, planning board, ZBA, and 5 years on the Gunstock Area Commission.
Kurt Webber is a Republican-leaning Democrat who is a co-founder of Camp Resilience, which runs therapeutic retreats for veterans. Mr. Webber himself is a veteran and West Point graduate, serving 23 years in Special Forces and as an instructor. Locally he is an instructor at Lakes Region Community College and served as a volunteer football coach in Gilford.
Bob McLean is a 50-year resident of Belknap County and has lived in Gilford for 28 years. He prioritizes education and county issues, particularly the protection of Gunstock, where he’s been a ski instructor for 10 years.
Dr. Nagel is an internationally-known pain management policy specialist, and is active on both the state and national level in health policy.
Incumbent Harry Bean, of Gilford, stepped up to lead a coalition of County Delegation members to end the chaos at Gunstock, for which voters are grateful. He is a business owner and lifelong resident of Gilford.
Our Recommendations
You can’t go wrong with either of these candidates.
Mr. Hodges is the former elected Belknap County Sheriff for 15 years, former Dept. of Homeland Security manager, and knows how the county operates. He knows many of the current county employees and has a reputation as someone who gets things done.
Our Recommendations
Mr. Glassman is the incumbent for Registrar of Probate, serving three terms, and we feel that he will continue to serve the county as a good steward. He is a retired insurance executive.
