About the Candidate
Mr. Rossi has chosen not returned his 2026 Candidate Questionnaire, likely following the boycott demanded by the Belknap County Republican Committee. Nor has he completed his Citizens Count survey
Mr. Rossi's webpage does not reveal how long he has lived in Laconia. One source confirmed he was in NH prior to Sept. 2025, but we have not determined when he arrived. Such information is critical in assessing a candidate's fitness to represent a community and county.
Despite the lack of a questionnaire from Mr. Rossi, we have learned much as he known in Republican/Libertarian circles as having loudly called out the New York City school at which he worked for its diversity, equity & inclusion policies in 2021. After he published his essay, "I Refuse to Stand By While My Students Are Indoctrinated" in The Free Press, he spoke widely with conservative press outlets. He was apparently fired by Grace Church School, then later co-founded The Terra Firma Teacher Alliance to assist teachers opposed to DEI policies. He received an award from the Columbia Academic Freedom Council in 2025, at which point he was living in Laconia.
His campaign website includes:
"I learned first hand how teachers unions and administration use DEI, Gender Theory, and Critical Race Theory to segregate students and manipulate their sense of identity to serve a political agenda."
Mr. Rossi attended Cornell University for his B.A. in French Literature in 1992. Prior to teaching, Mr. Rossi worked for broadcaster HBO as a technical manager/media manager. He returned to Hunter College for a masters in Educational Psychology in 2012, after which He then taught mathematics at Grace Church School before his dismissal.
As for New Hampshire issues, Mr. Rossi lists five priorities:
-Improving Education & Vocational Training - Supporter of EFA and school choice
-Lowering Our Tax Burden - "Find efficiencies before asking taxpayers for more"
-Reducing Energy Costs - End blocks of building more transmission lines and pipelines in NH
-Creating a Healthy Housing Market - Regulation has made it too hard to build
-Homelessness, Addiction & Accountability - "Compassion without accountability doesn't solve problems, it prolongs them

Since he does not have a contested seat for the Primary, Mr. Rossi's recommendation will not be posted until after Sept. 8th.
We are awaiting Mr. Rossi's 2026 questionnaire. Since he's lived in Laconia for such a short time, understanding his depth of knowledge and positions on Belknap County issues is particularly important.
In His Own Words . . .
